Eastern Michigan Eagles 2026 Preview
The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network continues its 138 college football team preview series with the Eastern Michigan Eagles 2026 Season Preview. Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) & Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) break down the 2026 Eastern Michigan Eagles roster and what to expect in the MAC this season. Can Chris Creighton turn a 4-8 finish into the bowl trip his hot seat now demands? Does returning quarterback Noah Kim have the Eagles ready to climb in year seven of his college career?
Was a 3-5 MAC record a fair read on a roster that went 3-4 in one-score games? Can offensive coordinator Mike Piatkowski lift a unit that finished 78th in total offense? How much does Oklahoma State transfer tackle Tyler Brumfield help a line that returns 59 percent of its production? Will a new co-defensive coordinator setup fix a defense that ranked 136th against the run? Can Carter Evans and Barry Manning anchor a rebuild with 64 percent of the defense back? And where’s the betting value on the Eastern Michigan Eagles win total, MAC odds and College Football Playoff chances? We talk it all and more on this episode of The College Football Experience.
Chris Creighton And The Eastern Michigan Hot Seat
The Eastern Michigan Eagles 2026 preview opens on the coach who has to win now. First, Chris Creighton owns a 61-83 record across his run in Ypsilanti. Then the deck flags his hot-seat rating at a warm 6 out of 10. Meanwhile the Eagles went 4-8 last fall and 3-5 in the MAC. Because so many of those losses stayed close, the guys dig into a 3-4 mark in one-score games. From there they weigh whether year 13 finally gets Eastern Michigan back to a bowl.
The math around the seat is not simple either. First, Creighton sits 3-4 against Big Ten teams, and every one of those games came on the road. Then you have a program that had not reached a bowl since 1987 before he arrived. Because of that history, the guys grade his tenure with real context. Next they lay out the schedule spots that decide his 2026. Also, they stress that another year without a bowl changes the whole conversation for this staff.

The Offense And Quarterback Noah Kim
The offense has room to climb after a middling 2025. First, Eastern Michigan finished 78th in total offense and 92nd in scoring. Then the passing game landed 61st while the run game sat 82nd. Because coordinator Mike Piatkowski returns 59 percent of the production, the room does not start over. From there the guys map where the points come from this fall. Also, an Oklahoma State transfer tackle in Tyler Brumfield joins a line that brings back Joshua Anderson and Nicholas Gallegos.
At quarterback the guys like the continuity. Noah Kim is back after leading the MAC in passing yards last season. First, he is a redshirt senior who arrived by way of Michigan State and Coastal Carolina. Then the deck notes he is entering year seven of his college career. Because Eastern Michigan rarely gets a returning starter, that alone matters. Next the guys weigh whether Kim takes another step with Nick Devereaux and Joshua Long back around him.
The Eastern Michigan Defensive Rebuild
The defense carries the bigger question mark on this roster. First, Eastern Michigan ranked 113th in total defense and 101st in scoring defense in 2025. Then the run defense finished dead last at 136th in the country. Because a new co-coordinator setup inherits that mess, the guys size up how big the rebuild really is. Meanwhile the pass defense actually held up at 20th, so there is something to build on. From there they weigh whether the front seven can slow the run this fall.
The returning pieces give the crew some hope. First, the defense brings back 64 percent of its production. Then Carter Evans anchors the line while Barry Manning leads the linebackers. Also, Bryce Llewellyn and Juan Salas return in a secondary that graded as the strength. Because the MAC throws explosive passing offenses at you every week, that pass defense number matters. Next the guys ask whether the run fits improve enough to steal a couple of close games.

The 2026 MAC Schedule And Win Total
The 2026 slate opens with a Week 0 trap in Ypsilanti. First, Eastern Michigan hosts Sacramento State to start the season. Then the guys flag that opener as a live upset spot for a hungry visitor. Meanwhile road trips against the Big Ten headline the non-conference draw. From there the MAC grind brings San Jose State and rival Western Michigan into focus. Also, they map the swing games that decide whether the Eagles reach six wins this fall.
Then they close it out where the betting value lives. The Eastern Michigan Eagles win total sits at 5.5 games. First the guys weigh a 4-8 team against a schedule with real swing spots. Then they get into the MAC odds at +1400 and the +25000 College Football Playoff long shot. Because the roster returns a starting quarterback and heavy production, both hosts lean to the over. Finally they hand you the read they trust on the Eagles heading into the fall.
