Chris Creighton And The Eastern Michigan Hot Seat
The Eastern Michigan Eagles 2026 preview opens on the coach who has to win now. First, Chris Creighton owns a 61-83 record across his run in Ypsilanti. Then the deck flags his hot-seat rating at a warm 6 out of 10. Meanwhile the Eagles went 4-8 last fall and 3-5 in the MAC. Because so many of those losses stayed close, the guys dig into a 3-4 mark in one-score games. From there they weigh whether year 13 finally gets Eastern Michigan back to a bowl.
The math around the seat is not simple either. First, Creighton sits 3-4 against Big Ten teams, and every one of those games came on the road. Then you have a program that had not reached a bowl since 1987 before he arrived. Because of that history, the guys grade his tenure with real context.
