College Football Pick Of The Day (October 11th): NCAA Week 7 Spread Pick
For today’s college football pick looking at Week 7, I’m looking at the biggest game on the board when Ohio State travels to face off against undefeated Indiana. It’s a rematch of last season’s Big Ten Championship. In that one, OSU won 13-10. The line currently sits at -3, favoring the Buckeyes.
Ohio State hsa been rolling offensively. They’re averaging 42.7 points per game, while piling up 503.5 total yards. Quarterback Julian Sayin has been efficient. However, it’s been Jeremiah Smith who has stood out as a nightmare for defenses. He has 916 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns this season. The Buckeyes’ defense is also really good. They’re holding opponents to just 13.2 points per game.
Indiana has been impressive as well. They are averaging 40.2 points per game with a strong rushing attack. However, the Hoosiers have struggled against the spread (currently 1-5). Their undefeated mark includes closer wins than one would have expected. Look at their road game in Nebraska as evidence. This team isn’t dominating other teams like last year.
Ohio State’s superior overall talent, elite playmakers, and defensive physicality should give them the edge in this game. Even though they’re on the road, their defense travels well and will look to limit Indiana’s explosive plays. It’s a revenge game for last year’s title game, and this could be another Big 10 Championship preview. I expect a competitive, low-scoring game that sees Ohio State win by at least a touchdown.
The Pick: Ohio State -3
