The Wisconsin Badgers 2026 preview opens on a coach fighting for his job. First, Luke Fickell went just 4-8 last fall and 2-7 in the Big Ten. Then that skid dropped his Madison record to a rough 17-21 overall. Because of that, the guys stamp an 8 out of 10 on his coaching hot seat. Meanwhile, athletic director Chris McIntosh confirmed Fickell’s return back in November. So year four becomes a clear prove-it season in Madison.
The story gets uglier when you look at how the season unraveled. To begin, Wisconsin stumbled through a long stretch without a Big Ten win. The Offense And Colton Joseph
The offense is where this whole thing fell apart in 2025. Last season Wisconsin ranked 135th in total offense and 135th in scoring, so the numbers were brutal.
