One Futures Bet A Day For NFL Countdown: Broncos And Patriots Win Total

Denver Broncos Over 5.5 Regular Season Wins and New England Patriots Under 4.5 Regular Season Wins (+270 on FanDuel)

This NFL Futures bet can be found on FanDuel. Find the “Futures Fusion” section under NFL and then locate the section called “Guess The Lines With Bill and Sal”. There are many of combinations here, and you’ll likely hear about one more before the end of the month since we’re doing a future a day and these are some fun bets. This one focuses on two teams that the books have low expectations for.

Why I think It Hits

I already wrote on the 20th how I feel about the Broncos win total. Combining what I feel like is a competent run game and defense with Bo Nix’s upside makes me feel good about this one. They also have a coach who is used to winning and will work on a culture change in Denver. Top that off with some underrated weapons such as Courtland Sutton.

Another thing I’m encouraged by is their quarterback depth. Zach Wilson isn’t the best quarterback in the world, but he’s a decent backup that can win a couple of games. You also have to keep in mind that the Broncos have the eighth-easiest schedule. That’s easier than last year and I think the offense will be improved. They surpassed this last year and I feel confident they can do better than 5.5 games.

The other part of this I gave out on Old-Fashioned Football when talking about best bets for the AFC East. The Patriots are in a complete rebuild. Drake Maye will likely be taking the starting reigns on a team that is lacking proven playmakers. Rhamondre Stevenson has been solid out of the backfield. However, the pass-catchers may struggle to make big impacts.

The defense may also take a step back this year after moving some pieces in and out. The Patriots lost some veteran leadership and have added some younger guys. Most of the sportsbooks have the Patriots as the last team in win totals and that feels fairly accurate. In the past few years the worst teams in the league have failed to win over 4.5 games and that feels like a trend that will continue.

To top off to what is a rebuilding year and a tough outing for the Patriots is their strength of schedule. They have the second-hardest ranked schedule this year according to most strength of schedule sites. Broncos over, Patriots under, feels like a solid bet and you can get it at +270. This will be a fun one to root for.
