One Futures Bet A Day For NFL Countdown: Quarterback Passing Touchdowns

Most Passing Touchdowns by any QB in Regular Season Over 38.5 (-130 at Bet365)

This is a fun NFL Futures bet because you aren’t relying on a single player. Instead, you’re relying on at least one quarterback to ball out this season. I’ve already stated in these bets how I think Patrick Mahomes is throwing for over 40 passing touchdowns in the regular season. This is a similar bet at lower odds but much safer. All it will take is just one quarterback to throw for over 38.5 touchdowns, and we cash!

You may think this number feels low. However, the closest anybody got last year was Dak Prescott, who had 36. In 2022, Patrick Mahomes hit the over by throwing for 41. In 2021, two quarterbacks (Tom Brady and Matt Stafford) hit the over. Three, Brady, Rodgers, and Wilson, hit it in 2020. In 2019, it was missed, with the closest being Lamar Jackson of all people, with 36.

Who could throw for over 38.5?

However, this year feels different. You have young talent hungry to prove themselves in their second year, such as CJ Stroud and Jordan Love. Love threw for 32 last year, which many would agree was a year that started slow. Stroud threw for only 23 but missed a couple of games and now has even more weapons. Brock Purdy even notched 31 last year and will want to show that was no fluke.

You also have new talented starters such as Caleb Williams. Can he be the first Bears’ quarterback to throw over 38.5 passing touchdowns? Maybe Bears fans should start by hoping he can be the first Bears’ quarterback to throw for over 30 passing touchdowns. Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix will also be looking to have a great first rookie season.

Then there are the veterans. I’ve talked up Patrick Mahomes revenge tour on his way to becoming the first quarterback to win three in a row. There’s also Matt Stafford, who hit over this number just three seasons ago. He now has a healthy Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. Jared Goff has been slinging it in Detroit and has talented weapons such as Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, and Jahmyr Gibbs out of the backfield.

Regardless of which quarterback becomes this year’s top gunslinger, you don’t have to worry about picking the right one with this bet. You just have to hope that one of them hits it. For what it’s worth, if you think we’ll see a repeat of last year, you can get the under at +100 on Bet365. However, I’m confident the juiced-over is going to hit this year.
