NFL Countdown: One NFL Futures Bet A Day – Day Four

Deebo Samuel & Justin Jefferson to Combine for 15+ Receiving TDs in the Regular Season (+200 on DraftKings)

For today’s NFL future bets, you have to dig a little bit deeper to find it. Under the NFL section, scroll past the futures section and find the receiver section. Then, scroll all the way to the end of its subsections to find the specials. That’s where I found this NFL futures bet, which involves two receivers randomly paired with each other. The bet is for Deebo Samuel & Justin Jefferson to combine for 15+ receiving touchdowns in the regular season.

This feels like a discounted price because Justin Jefferson now has Sam Darnold throwing to him. I don’t necessarily think that’s a huge decline. Darnold fits this offense very well and has already looked good in just preliminary practices.

Kevin O’Connell is a smart coach who can maximize his players’ talents, and I think the offense is going to look better than people are giving it credit for. Last year, in just ten games, many without Kirk Cousins, Jefferson had five touchdowns. In his previous seasons, he had seven, ten, and eight.

What about Deebo?

The other receiver in this bet, Deebo Samuel, has an injury history that makes people nervous about him. With Brandon Aiyuk potentially holding out and wanting to be traded, Deebo’s role could get even bigger.

Last year, Deebo had a career-high seven receiving touchdowns. If he can repeat that, though, I think he could add another this year as they are getting towards using him less in the run game and primarily in the passing game.

Two years ago, Deebo scored six touchdowns. As long as he’s healthy, he can put up good numbers and that offense doesn’t look like it shows any signs of slowing down.

If Deebo can get seven touchdowns like last year, then Jefferson only needs to add eight. If you ask fantasy football enthusiasts, hopes are high that Justin Jefferson will be able to get to the standard production that we’ve all come to know. Getting this at 2/1 odds seems like a solid bet.
