NFL Countdown: One NFL Futures Bet A Day – Day Two

Jayden Daniels HIGHER than 4.5 Rushing TDs (On Underdog Fantasy)

Our day two NFL futures bet is located on Underdog Fantasy. We focus on a rookie, Jayden Daniels, who has elite rushing ability and will be the unquestioned starter of the Washington Commanders. In 2023 on LSU, Daniels had 1,134 rushing yards and ten touchdowns. Prior to that, in 2022, he had 885 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns.

Daniels even had six rushing touchdowns in 2021 when he played for Arizona State. In other words, he’s gone higher than 4.5 rushing touchdowns three years in a row in college. Yes, the NFL is vastly different. However, I still think he’s going to make teams pay with his legs.

For those saying he’s going to take the path of Anthony Richardson and end up getting hurt. I get the comparison, as Daniels doesn’t do a good job of protecting himself. However, even in only playing four games and finishing only one game, Anthony Richardson had four rushing touchdowns.

Daniels didn’t have a problem with injuries in the past three seasons in college, and I expect him to play at least half the season this year. Half a season is all I think he’ll need in order to get higher than 4.5 rushing touchdowns and it’s one of my favorite NFL futures bets. It feels like a number that is priced with the expectation of injury, not one where he may play all season. This feels like a lock.
