One Futures Bet A Day For NFL Countdown: Anthony Richardson Rushing touchdowns
Anthony Richardson HIGHER than 7.5 rushing touchdowns (Underdog Fantasy)
Today’s NFL futures bet focuses on one player rather than an entire team. The past two days have been more of division and conference bets and it’s time to find another player projection. In digging through some there was one that stood out on Underdog Fantasy that I feel really good about. The player is Anthony Richardson, and the stat projection is 7.5 rushing touchdowns.
Richardson’s Athleticism
Last year, Anthony Richardson only started and finished one game before being placed on the injured reserve. He was injured throughout every other game, partially due to taking hit after hit. Finally, he injured the AC joint in his shoulder and was placed on injured reserve for the year.
Richardson is healthy now and will be back on the field. In fact, he’s had one of his throws clocked at 700 revolutions per minute. The standard average is around 600. His health doesn’t concern me for this NFL futures bet.
Seeing his rushing touchdowns at 7.5 feels like it’s priced with injury concerns. In four games last year, Richardson ran for four touchdowns. I am sure the organization will ask him to stop running as much as he did last year. However, it’s hard to cage natural talent. He’s an extremely talented athlete who can destroy defenses with his legs.
In his senior year of college at Florida, he ran for 654 yards and nine touchdowns in twelve games. That’s an average of 0.75 touchdowns per game. College ball and the NFL are very different. However, if he could maintain somewhat close to that average, it would put him in double-digit rushing touchdowns over seventeen games.
We also didn’t see Jonathan Taylor and Anthony Richardson on the field together much. Taylor was dealing with his own injuries, and Zach Moss was filling in. While Moss did an admirable job for the Colts, his talent level isn’t the same as Taylor’s, and that could affect Richardson’s rushing touchdown numbers.
However, despite Taylor and Richardson sharing the field, I still believe Richardson is a supreme athlete who will get his. He won’t average last year’s one rushing touchdown per game, but he should see north of 7.5 touchdowns. That’s why I love higher than 7.5 rushing touchdowns for Anthony Richardson on Underdog Fantasy.
