Football Pick of the Day (October 18th): NFL Week 6 Prop Bet
Los Angeles Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs
4:25pm – Sunday – October 18th
The Chargers are terrible and now the whole world knows it. Just how bad they are seems to be the talk of the town and even the biggest casual knows to fade them at this point. As a result, all of the lines on their demise seem to be over-corrected.
One of the lines that I think has swung too far is the line on Patrick Mahomes’ passing yards. He put up 225 through the air last week against the Raiders. As he heads in to face the Chargers, they have him right around that mark at 223.5 passing yards. Plenty might be expecting him to go off on Los Angeles, but the problem with that logic is that the Chargers aren’t allowing much through the air this season.
In fact, the Chargers are one of the very best teams in the league at limiting passing yards. They’re 6th in the league in that stat category with 193.0 yards per game allowed. A lot of that is because they’re awful against the run and usually down in the game. That allows teams to just keep pounding the ball. The Chiefs have shown a willingness to do that with Kenneth Walker III averaging over 20 carries a game and 134.3 yards per game.
Expect the Chiefs to find an early lead and let Mahomes rest that arm.
