Cincinnati Bearcats 2026 Preview
The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network continues its 138 college football team preview series with the Cincinnati Bearcats 2026 Season Preview. Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) & Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) are joined by lifelong Bearcats fan Jay North. Together they break down the 2026 Cincinnati Bearcats roster and what to expect in the Big 12 this season. Is Scott Satterfield’s seat as hot as everyone thinks? Could Urban Meyer really be the next man up at Cincinnati?
Can J.C. French take the Bearcats offense to the next level in 2026? Did Cincinnati win or lose the transfer portal this offseason? Will Nate Woody’s defense take a step forward in year one? Does the Big 12 schedule break right for the Bearcats in 2026? How tough are the road trips to Arizona, West Virginia, Houston and Iowa State? Is Nippert Stadium one of the most underrated gameday experiences in college football? And where’s the betting value on the Cincinnati Bearcats win total, Big 12 odds and College Football Playoff chances? We talk it all and more on this episode of The College Football Experience.

The Scott Satterfield Hot Seat
Cincinnati fans have heard every excuse. The guys open with the full Scott Satterfield hiring saga. Jay North pulls no punches on how he felt about the hire from day one. From there they grade the 15-22 record, including a 9-18 mark in Big 12 play. They also debate whether his resume reads better as a Group of Five success story than a power conference one. Then they put a real number on his hot seat heading into 2026, and the card reads nine out of ten. That leads into the question every Bearcats fan is already asking. If this season goes sideways, is Urban Meyer honestly an option at Cincinnati? And which coaching search names belong on the shortlist behind him?

J.C. French Takes The Keys
The offense gets a fresh look this season. New coordinators Nic Cardwell and Pete Thomas arrive with a new plan. J.C. French IV steps in at quarterback after 26 career starts and 5,882 passing yards between Georgia Southern and Memphis. The guys break down what French brings to the position. They also look at how a line anchored by Joe Cotton holds up. Is 57 percent returning production enough in a league full of proven quarterbacks? From there they dig into a 47-commit offseason haul. Did Cincinnati win or lose the transfer portal? They name the additions and losses that will matter most by October.

Nate Woody Rebuilds The Defense
On the other side of the ball, Nate Woody takes over a defense with nowhere to go but up. Cincinnati finished 2025 ranked 93rd in total defense and 108th against the run. The guys get into why those numbers made a coordinator change unavoidable. They project how Woody’s scheme fits the personnel already in the building. They also weigh the portal adds brought in to speed things up. So how much improvement is realistic in year one? And what would a sturdier defense mean for the win total? Because if this unit takes even a half step forward, the math on this team changes fast.

Nippert Stadium And The Gameday Scene
It would not be a College Experience preview without the gameday talk. Cincy Light gets a proper review. The best bars and eats near Nippert get their shoutouts. Then the crew makes the case for Nippert Stadium as one of the most underrated venues in college football. Jay North brings the local knowledge, from tailgate traditions to stadium history. And by the end of the segment, a trip to Cincinnati sounds less like a maybe and more like a must.
The 2026 Schedule And Win Total
The non-conference slate opens with Boston College, Western Carolina and Miami OH. The guys walk through what a clean start would mean for everything that follows. After that it gets real. Kansas State comes to Nippert. The road trips to Arizona, West Virginia, Houston and Iowa State will decide the season. Then Texas Tech and Utah land in a brutal stretch before Coach Prime and the season finale against BYU. The guys close by locking in their lean on the Cincinnati Bearcats win total. And they tell you where the betting value sits on Big 12 odds and College Football Playoff chances this season.
