The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 2026 preview opens on a coach who just keeps winning. First, Tyson Helton sits at 57-36 overall in Bowling Green. Then you check his league mark and it reads a stout 40-15 in Conference USA. He has posted only one losing season on the Hill. Because the floor stays that high, the guys hand Helton a hot seat rating of just 2 out of 10. Also, that kind of steady hand is rare at the Group of Five level. Meanwhile the roster around him turns over hard every single winter. From there the guys explain why the arrow still points up for Big Red.

The Offense And Rodney Tisdale Jr.
The offense returns as the more proven side of this roster. First, Western Kentucky finished 45th in total offense and 51st in scoring last fall. Then you look closer and the passing game ranked a strong 22nd nationally. The run game lagged behind at 93rd, so there is real work to do. New coordinator Bodie Reeder arrives from Middle Tennessee to run this attack. Because Helton churns through coordinators, the guys track how fast Reeder can settle the group.
