The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network continues its 138 college football team preview series with the Bowling Green Falcons 2026 Season Preview. Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) & Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) break down the 2026 Falcons roster and the MAC race. Can Eddie George turn a 4-8 debut into a bowl push in year two? And does Oregon transfer Austin Novosad finally settle the quarterback spot?
Can offensive coordinator Greg Nosal lift a unit that ranked 117th in scoring last season? Does Austin Novosad, a QB11 recruit in the 2023 class, add explosive plays after his Oregon transfer? Can Joe Bowden’s defense, 42nd in total defense a year ago, carry the roster? Will tight ends Blane Cleaver and Eli Jacon-Duffy anchor a group that returns just 32 percent of its production? Can Bowling Green survive an early test against Nebraska and Iowa State? And where’s the betting value on the Bowling Green Falcons win total, MAC odds and College Football Playoff chances? We talk it all and more on this episode of The College Football Experience.
Eddie George Settles In For Year Two
This Bowling Green Falcons 2026 preview starts with a coach the deck is in no rush to run off. Eddie George enters year two after a 4-8 debut. The deck rates his seat just a 1 out of 10, one of the coolest marks in the MAC. First, Bowling Green finished 4-8 a season ago while going 2-3 in games decided by ten points or less. Then several of those one-score losses showed a young roster closer than the record suggests. Because George arrived as a marquee hire, 2026 reads like the year the rebuild shows up.

Austin Novosad Leads An Offense Looking To Climb
Bowling Green’s offense ranked 117th in scoring and 124th in total offense in 2025. So coordinator Greg Nosal has real work ahead. First, Oregon transfer Austin Novosad arrives as the headline portal addition. He was a QB11 recruit in the 2023 class and now gets his shot to start. Then the tight end room returns Blane Cleaver and Eli Jacon-Duffy as familiar targets. Also the rushing attack, which finished 71st a year ago, gives Novosad a base to lean on. Meanwhile the group returns just 32 percent of its production, so the cast around him stays young.
Joe Bowden’s Defense Is The Steadier Unit
Joe Bowden’s defense was the steadier side of the ball in Bowling Green in 2025. First, the unit ranked 42nd nationally in total defense, the strongest number on the roster. Then the pass defense finished 40th while the run defense landed 55th. Kal-El Pascal returns in the secondary to anchor the back end. Because that group brings back 38 percent of its production, Bowden has more continuity than Nosal does. That balance could keep games close in the MAC.

The Schedule And The Win Total
Bowling Green opens against Tarleton State before the schedule turns nasty. First, Nebraska and Iowa State arrive in a nonconference stretch that will test the Falcons early. Then South Florida, Miami of Ohio and Sacramento State lead into the heart of MAC play. From there, Ball State, Buffalo, Western Michigan, Kent State, Toledo and UMass fill out the slate. The deck sets the Bowling Green win total at 4.5. The Falcons are plus 1600 to win the MAC and plus 25000 to make the College Football Playoff. So the hosts weigh the over against a roster leaning hard on transfers.
