South Carolina Gamecocks 2026 Team Preview | The College Football Experience (Ep. 3025)

South Carolina 2026 preview and SEC win total breakdown

South Carolina 2026 Preview

The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network continues its 138 college football team preview series with the South Carolina Gamecocks 2026 Season Preview. Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) & Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) break down the 2026 South Carolina Gamecocks roster and what to expect in the SEC this season. Can Shane Beamer cool an 8-out-of-10 coaching hot seat after a 4-8 finish in 2025? And is LaNorris Sellers ready to carry the offense in his third scheme in three years under new coordinator Kendal Briles?

Can an offense that ranked 109th in total offense a season ago take a leap with Kendal Briles calling plays and Nyck Harbor, Brady Hunt and 76 percent of the production back? Does Clayton White’s defense, 52nd in total defense last year, hold up with Dylan Stewart leading the front? Can the Gamecocks survive a brutal SEC slate that runs at Alabama, Kentucky, at Florida, Tennessee, at Oklahoma, Texas A&M, at Arkansas and Georgia before the Clemson rivalry finish? What does a Saturday feel like inside Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia? And where’s the betting value on the South Carolina Gamecocks win total, SEC odds and College Football Playoff chances? We talk it all and more on this episode of The College Football Experience.

Shane Beamer On The Hot Seat

This South Carolina 2026 preview starts with a coach on the hot seat. Shane Beamer enters the season with the deck rating his seat an 8 out of 10. First, the Gamecocks finished 4-8 in 2025, a clear step back after a nine-win year. Then several of those losses came in close games that flipped late. Because of that slide, 2026 reads like a referendum season for Beamer in Columbia.

LaNorris Sellers And Kendal Briles’ Offense

South Carolina’s offense ranked 109th nationally in total offense in 2025, with scoring offense at 104th. So Shane Beamer hired Kendal Briles to run the unit and open things up. First, LaNorris Sellers returns at quarterback, now in his third offense in three years. Then Nyck Harbor headlines the skill group as a returning starter at receiver. Brady Hunt also comes back at tight end to help Sellers. Meanwhile the offense returns 76 percent of its production, so Briles inherits a veteran base.

Clayton White’s Defense Holds The Line

Clayton White is back running the South Carolina defense in 2026. First, the unit ranked 52nd nationally in total defense a season ago. Then the rushing defense finished 49th, a middle-of-the-pack mark in the SEC. Dylan Stewart returns up front as the headliner and one of the better young pass rushers in the league. Because that group returns key pieces, White has a base to build on. So the defense projects as the steadier side of the roster heading into the season.

The Schedule And The Win Total

South Carolina opens at home against Kent State before a tune-up with Towson. First, Mississippi State visits Columbia to start the SEC slate. Then the schedule turns brutal with a road trip to Alabama. After that, Kentucky, a trip to Florida, Tennessee and a road game at Oklahoma stack up fast. From there, Texas A&M, a trip to Arkansas and Georgia lead into the Clemson rivalry finish. What does a Saturday feel like inside Williams-Brice Stadium when the crowd gets loud? The deck sets the South Carolina win total at 6.5, with the Gamecocks at plus 5000 to win the SEC and plus 1100 to make the College Football Playoff. So the hosts weigh the over against Beamer’s hot seat.
