NFL Picks Preseason Week 2 Recap
Sean Green (@SeanTGreen) and Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric) hand out their NFL preseason Week 2 picks, and they run all 16 games on the slate with spreads, totals and moneylines. Because the starters barely play in August, they chase home dogs and a fat stack of joint-practice unders across the entire board. Additionally they lock in their best bets, sort out their dogs, and price out a four-team moneyline parlay that pays north of nine to one.
Preseason Week 2 is baby-spread season. And almost every road team is laying just a point and a half. So the guys hunted the same edge all night, and it kept landing on the home dog. Once you know the starters sit, the under looks just as strong. So Ryan leaned all the way in. By the end, he had ten joint-practice unders stacked up, because neither sideline wants to show anything worth taping.
Baby Spreads Shape The NFL Preseason Week 2 Picks
Start with the smash spot. Both guys got to Denver -5.5 over Green Bay in a hurry. After all, the Broncos have every reason to press. Meanwhile the Packers are happy to coast, so the number went straight on the board. The same read carried a run of home dogs. Houston +1.5, the Chargers +1.5, Washington +4.5 and the Rams +2.5 all fit it. Each one, though, gets a free field-position cushion in a game the favorite does not care about. When Ryan wanted a total instead, he kept circling back to the under. After that, he stacked the matching unders on top.
Locks, Splits And The Parlay
Once the board was set, the locks came easy. First, Sean took three: Broncos -5.5, Bears -1.5 and Steelers +1.5. That Pittsburgh number, though, is really a Drew Allar bet dressed up as a spread. After watching the rookie sling it, Sean is ready to buy the jersey. So a buck-and-a-half back on top felt like a gift. Then Ryan locked Tennessee -4.5 and jumped on Bears -1.5 too. He was glad to fade a Bengals group that still has not shown much. On the moneyline, Sean grabbed Buffalo at +130 as his dog. Meanwhile Ryan took the Rams at +124, since he trusts a live underdog to hang around.
Not everything lined up, though, and the splits are where it got fun. Ravens-Vikings cut the room in half. Sean backed Baltimore +3.5, while Ryan wanted Minnesota -3.5. Bills-Browns did the same. So Sean rode Buffalo +2.5, and Ryan went the other way on Cleveland -2.5 at 100 percent. Still, they found common ground too. From there, both agreed on Tampa Bay -5.5, Arizona -1.5 and New England +2.5. Then Ryan built the four-teamer. He stacked Steelers, Broncos, Bears and Titans on the moneyline for +905. Meanwhile Sean kept his tighter with a Ravens and Bills combo around +450. After all that, download the SGPN app for the full card on every one of the 16 games.
