Arizona Cardinals Preview

The NFL season is fast approaching. Here at the SGPN network, we’re taking a look at all 32 teams ahead of the NFL season. What big changes did they make to the coaching staff or team? What holes did they fill, or fail to fill? Most importantly, what are the best bets on them ahead of the 2026 NFL season? We’ll kick things off with the NFC West’s Arizona Cardinals. Plus the return of the ‘Phrase That Pays’ a contest for your chance to win a $1,000 NFL Future bet.

The Arizona Cardinals went just 3-14 in 2025. Things went off the rails quickly for them. It led to the dismissal of Jonathan Gannon and the release of their once-franchise quarterback Kyler Murray. The team hired Mike LaFleur, the offensive coordinator for their division rival Los Angeles Rams from 2023-2025, to take over the head coaching position. LaFleur is the most recent apple to fall off the Sean McVay coaching tree in hopes of striking gold. For the brother of Green Bay Packers head coach Mike LaFleur, it’s the 39-year-old’s first job as a head coach at any level.

Despite having the #3 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Cardinals decided not to address the quarterback position, likely a wise choice in a weak class. They’ll ride with Jacoby Brissett, assuming the two sides settle things in his “holding-in” contract dispute. Brissett went just 1-11 as the Cardinals starter in 2025. They also signed Gardner Minshew and drafted Carson Beck in the third round.

Calais Campbell was their most notable departure aside from Kyler Murray. In free agency, they added running back Tyler Allgeier, which seemed like a solid move until the NFL Draft. They did get the best offensive guard from the free agent market in Issac Seumalo, a big move for their future. The biggest get of the offseason, Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love. The Cardinals drafted Love with the third overall pick. Seemingly making their plan look similar to that of the Las Vegas Raiders. Get your star running back, and the next season add the quarterback of the future.

Overall, the feeling is the Arizona Cardinals are looking forward to 2027. In a quarterback-rich 2027 NFL Draft, the Cardinals will hope to grab the future anchor of their franchise and look forward. – Cody Zeeb (@Husker_Zeeb)

Cody’s 2026 Arizona Cardinals Best Bet

Over 330.5 Season Team Points (-115)

This is a fun market offered over on Caesars Sportsbook. Nobody expects the Arizona Cardinals to be good in 2026, not even the team itself. However, their offense should be able to do some damage this season. We saw it last year with Jacoby Brissett at the helm of the team. They can go out and lose games, but still stack up points. Their defense will not be good. That’s going to lead to the offense being on the field more, behind in games, needing to air it out.

With Brissett there to air it out to the likes of Trey McBride, Michael Wilson, and Marvin Harrison Jr., on top of the additions in the backfield of Jeremiyah Love and Tyler Allgaier, the Cardinals will be able to put up points. Last season, they scored 355 points on the year. Expect them to do something similar.
