Everything started with Indiana’s offense. Ryan said he has seen a good amount of this team and it does not seem tremendously interested in being a good offense. The guys noted Indiana is 1-7 against the spread, which they read as a team that wins and does not cover, and Colby said the line is so perplexing he could not make sense of it. They also pointed out that Minnesota has the Axe, the Jug and the Pig in its possession at once, and Minnesota has won four straight in the series.

Colby floated the contrarian side first. He said the line makes him think they should take Indiana, because it is hard to see how Minnesota gets that many, and he called Indiana’s defense the best in the nation he has seen. Then he argued the other way. Indiana has struggled to score, with 20 against Nebraska, 15 against Ohio State and 13 in overtime against Michigan, and Minnesota is the number 17 defense in the country, so he wondered how the spread got that big.

Ryan agreed that Indiana’s offense has been horrible and that they are not wrong to take the points, since Indiana is 1-7 against the spread. The room ended on Minnesota +20.5, with one voice joking that Indiana already got its one cover out of the way.
