Ryan asked Colby whether this could be the game where Mensah goes down, and then clarified he meant losing. Colby was on Carolina either way. He pointed out that Miami has Notre Dame on deck, and that North Carolina just lost a game it had no business losing, one he said should have it at five and one or six and one. Colby thought the North Carolina money line might be live. Ryan said no.

Sean was with Colby on North Carolina with the points, though the 14.5 made him a little nervous. It is almost like they are asking you to take North Carolina, he said. He leaned on the way North Carolina played Notre Dame at home as a big underdog, and on Miami’s own look-ahead to Notre Dame. His worries were that the North Carolina defense is not great on third down and that blowouts are always a factor. He still said he likes what he has seen of that defense, even if some of the numbers do not back it up.

Ryan’s side of it was Belichick. He asked whether Belichick was really going to get taken apart by a guy who just runs fast, and said he thinks North Carolina is good at taking away the things you really want to do. Sean added that North Carolina is coming off an overtime loss to Syracuse and has to be up for this game. Ryan called that a bad loss. Colby said they were up the whole game.
