Baylor visits UCF on Friday, October 30 at 4:30 PM PT / 7:30 PM ET in Orlando, FL, and the guys saw the visitor walking into a letdown spot: UCF’s fans were on the field last week. UCF was a 1.5-point favorite when the guys taped on October 27, and all three hosts took Baylor and the points on the College Football Picks Week 9 episode.
Baylor vs UCF Odds
UCF was a 1.5-point favorite over Baylor with a total of 48.5 when the guys taped on October 27.
Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): Baylor +1.5
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): Baylor +1.5
- Colby Dant (@thecolbyd): Baylor +1.5
The fade started with the field storm. One of the guys called it college football handicapping 101: always fade the court storm or the field storm. UCF’s fans were on the field last week, and Ryan called it an easy fade of a team whose fans were just on the field.
Colby supplied the Baylor side. He asked whether Baylor had just fired Dave Aranda, then made the case for Joe Klanderman, the former Kansas State defensive coordinator, as a good coach, and said Baylor’s defense has been solid this year. In his view the team lost a lot of close games and should have beaten Auburn in week one, so he does not think Baylor is that bad. Sean pointed at the matchup: UCF wants to run, Baylor is good at defending the run, and Baylor gets a new-head-coach bump while UCF sits in the letdown spot.
History came up because Baylor beat UCF last year. Sean said Baylor is 2-0 against them in Big 12 play, and Colby remembered one of those games, when UCF led 31-3 and Baylor came all the way back. Ryan asked if that history should worry anyone.
