Sean’s problem was the handicap, not the team. BYU has the Holy War coming up, but it is also coming off a really bad loss, and he does not see Arizona State being live. He expects BYU to win by around 14, which he called a tough handicap, and said BYU will win the game but he does not think it covers 16.5. He leaned on BYU’s 22-22-1 record against the spread after a loss in the Sitake era to argue a bounce-back is not automatic, and he said he did not like Sitake laying this many against a good head coach in Kenny Dillingham.

Colby agreed with that and added his own reasons. Dillingham has been great as a dog historically, and he said the number is just a little too steep. Quarterback uncertainty at Arizona State was part of the discussion, and Colby said that would make this one of the shakiest cards on his list, but he still took his chances with the points.
