The Rams head to Las Vegas, NV for this one, and as Sean put it, they won’t have the crowd in Vegas. Kickoff is Sunday, October 25 at 4:25 PM ET, and both hosts took the Raiders +4 on the NFL Picks Week 7 episode, with the Rams laying 4 and the total at 48.5 when the guys taped on October 21.
Rams vs Raiders Odds
The Los Angeles Rams were 4-point favorites over the Las Vegas Raiders with a total of 48.5 when the guys taped on October 21. Ryan read the Rams at -200 on the money line and the Raiders at +175.
Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): Raiders +4
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): Raiders +4
Ryan opened by calling this the same handicap as the Raiders a week earlier against the Bills: an elite team led by an all-world quarterback, laying four or so to a Raiders side that keeps hanging around. Sean agreed. In both of their recent spots against big favorites, he said, the Raiders backdoored the cover, and even while losing three straight they have played with confidence late.
Sean spent most of his time on the Rams’ injury list. The guys noted Davante Adams is out after a hamstring injury that requires surgery, and Sean called the losses on the defensive interior a huge deal for a team that needs to stop the run. He added a trend on the Raiders quarterback, 7-2-1 ATS in his last 10 as a non-divisional underdog of four or more, and called it his Goldilocks spot. The Rams also signed a kicker off the street, which did not help Sean’s confidence in them as a road favorite. He did give the other side its due: in the last 15 years, teams that lost as double-digit favorites are 29-18 ATS the following week.
Then Ryan went after Sean McVay. He listed the offensive coordinators McVay has had with the Rams and asked whether the coaching tree was good because of the branches, not the trunk. In his read, McVay is no longer grading out as a plus game manager, play designer or play caller, which makes the Rams a super team failing in front of everyone. His last word: take the points.
