Our Picks

Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): Bears -3
Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): Bears -3

Kramer opened by admitting he was wrong on the Bears last week, and said the market was too. Now he is surprised the line sits at three, which with home field folded in amounts to calling these two teams even. He would rather be on the Bears offense, the best unit in this game in his view, and he does not think the questions about the Patriots offense have been answered, even if the noise around them has quieted down.

Sean’s case started up front. He noted the Patriots are without both starting guards and have a right tackle who is banged up, and he has seen this quarterback fall apart when the pocket breaks down. Chicago has not been crushing anyone with pressure, which Kramer conceded, but Sean thinks they will get enough to force a turnover or two. He also likes what the Bears’ two-tight-end sets could do against a New England defense that spends most of its snaps in nickel.

Kramer’s last piece was the run game. He wants to see whether New England can slow it down, and called that a big part of this one. Prime-time dogs have been on a long run of covers, and the guys know it, but Kramer thinks this is where the streak ends and called it a good time to buy the Bears while their stock is low. Sean added that if he played the total, he would lean over.
