Cowboys vs Eagles Prediction & Picks: NFL Week 7

The Eagles’ case, as Sean Green tells it, starts with history: in good years and bad, Philadelphia shows up when Dallas comes to town. That was enough for both hosts to take the home dog in this Monday Night Football matchup, Monday, October 26 at 8:15 PM ET in Philadelphia, PA, where the Eagles were 4.5-point underdogs with a total of 44 when the guys taped on October 21. The Cowboys get the favorite’s treatment further down, and it isn’t kind. The full segment is on the NFL Picks Week 7 episode.

Cowboys vs Eagles Odds

The Dallas Cowboys were 4.5-point road favorites over the Philadelphia Eagles with a total of 44 when the guys taped on October 21. On air, Ryan read the money line as Cowboys -215 and Eagles +185.

Our Picks

Sean, an Eagles fan, admits the roster is banged up. He pointed to a run of offensive line injuries and said Philadelphia badly needs its lead running back healthy again. He still likes the Eagles’ passing game against this Cowboys defense, and he reminded everyone that Nick Sirianni started 2-5 in his first season as head coach and rallied the team into the playoffs. By his read, the Eagles are unbeaten in division games in a weak NFC East with three division games and a bye coming, which gives them a real shot to turn the season around. “I just don’t think you can take this Cowboys team as a road favorite against anyone,” he said, because the offense that is supposed to carry them isn’t producing.

Ryan got there from the Dallas side. He opened the segment noting the Cowboys are the only team in the division that hasn’t lost its starting quarterback, and they still aren’t close to first place. Against the Packers, he said, the offense was getting beaten by man coverage and Dak couldn’t adjust, and the Cowboys have been the get-right opponent for other teams’ offenses. He was worried his model might like Dallas once it adjusted for Philadelphia’s quarterback situation. It didn’t find any value in the Cowboys, so he is on the Eagles too.

That quarterback situation took up most of the segment. Sean laid out the Jalen Hurts timeline as it has been reported and said Hurts is out for the rest of the season with a blood clot. He said he has seen no evidence yet that the Eagles or the league’s medical staff did anything wrong, though he would change his mind if more comes out. Ryan thinks the way the team and the league handled the messaging drew suspicion it didn’t need. Tanner McKee gets the start, and Ryan floated a possible Joe Milton revenge spot at some point.
