Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs Georgia Bulldogs

‘Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate’ would be the name given to the Georgia Tech-Georgia football rivalry, whose 118th edition goes down tomorrow night at the home of the Georgia Bulldogs. The Bulldogs dominate this rivalry, with a 71-41-5 record in the game, including winning the last six Governor’s Cups (the trophy awarded to the game’s winner).
Georgia is a big favorite to win again tomorrow, but I think they’re too big of a favorite – and the whole SGPN team agrees with me. Georgia Tech was ranked earlier this season, and advanced stats have them rated as the 37th-best team in the nation. They’ve also won two straight games, including knocking off #4 Miami (FL) on November 9th.
Considering both teams’ advanced stats and Georgia’s home-field advantage, I have this game lined up as Georgia -12.5. There’s plenty of value on the Georgia Tech side of the spread – they haven’t lost any games this season by 18.5 points or more.
