SMU heads to Louisville on Saturday, September 19 at 3:30 PM ET at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium, with the Cardinals sitting as a 1.5-point home favorite and the total set at 59.5. The guys broke this one down on the College Football Picks Week 3 episode, and it split them straight down the middle.
SMU vs Louisville Odds
Louisville is a 1.5-point home favorite over SMU as of now, with the over/under sitting at 59.5. That short number tells the story. The guys treated this as close to a pick’em, and the high total had them talking shootout.
Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): SMU +1.5
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): SMU +1.5
- Colby Dant (@thecolbyd): Louisville -1.5
Two on the dog, one laying it at home. Ryan and Sean both grabbed SMU +1.5, while Colby took Louisville -1.5.
Colby made the case for Louisville. He pointed to quarterback Kienholz as the difference, said the Cardinals are the more desperate team after dropping a game early, and noted SMU’s defense looked shaky against Florida State. To him, a home team fighting to salvage its season is the side to back.
Sean and Ryan came back on SMU. Sean liked the Mustangs’ quarterback Jennings to connect on a deep ball against a Louisville secondary the guys flagged for surrendering big plays through two games, small sample and all. The guys also chewed on SMU’s sloppy-but-successful trip to Florida State, where they noted the Mustangs lost the turnover battle and still won, and split on whether that mess carries over or was just a weird season opener. Ryan stuck with SMU and said he liked the Mustangs in a teaser through the key numbers too.
