Ryan trusts Todd Monken more than the coach on the other side, and that coaching line is where the room split on Browns vs Jets, which kicks off Sunday, October 11 at 1:00 PM ET in East Rutherford, NJ. The Jets were 1.5-point favorites with a total of 40 when the guys taped the NFL Picks Week 5 episode on October 7, and Ryan and Sean landed on opposite sides.

Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): Browns +1.5
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): Jets -1.5
It started with disbelief that the Browns are a public side at all. Ryan’s surprise about this Cleveland team is that its defensive line keeps playing well. Sean went through the Jets side, where Mason Taylor looks to be back, and Ryan agreed that matters because the Jets need receivers who can get open for Geno.
Sean admitted taking the Jets is scary. His issue with Cleveland is that backing them means betting on peak Browns, and even in the Bucs game Deshaun Watson sailed passes late and fumbled, doing his best to give it away. He thinks a road team has to run the ball, that the Browns’ lead back hasn’t looked like himself since his injury, and that you can run on the Browns.
Ryan saw the passing matchup the other way: Watson against the Jets secondary, after the Jets allowed a team to run 90 plays. He said Watson is playing better than Geno Smith and that he doesn’t hate what Todd Monken has been doing. Sean granted all of it, then called the Browns a public dog with fleas and stayed with the home team. The Monken line got a “that’s a good counter” out of him, but no change of heart. Sean won’t be locking this one, and Ryan expects it to come back up in the Pleaser segment.
