Thursday Night Football Prop Bets – Five Ways to Get Paid

1. Over 5 Sacks (-105)

The two teams have combined for 28 totals sacks against in 5 games which comes to about 5.6 sacks per game, and thats with out looking closer at the matchup. Both teams enter this matchup down a key offensive lineman, Philly will be with out Lane Johnson and Carolina will be sans Ryan Khalil. What does this mean, opportunity for the the pass rush to get home. Carolina has the greater opportunity to get home with Lane Johnson being a key component to Carson Wentz and his early success last year, and their very impressive adjusted sack rate(#5), and we all know Cam Newton loves to hold the ball. Over please.

2. Christian McCaffery Under 71.5 rush+rec yards (-110)

I think its fair to say at this point that the hype was just the hype. McCaffery has failed to exhibit the “playmaking” skills many expected him to show as a gadget RB/WR. He has failed to top this total in 3 of 5 games and with the strength of the Eagles defense being their linebacking group, I expect much of the same from McCaffery. The under is the play here.

3. Cameron Newton Over 250.5 passing yards (-110)

It was no secret that Cam wasn’t healthy to start the year and it showed throwing for less than 200 yards in 2 of his first 3 weeks. Its not a stretch to explain these struggles with the fact that he was coming off offseason shoulder surgery to his THROWING SHOULDER!!! What has he done in the past two weeks you ask, casually shred the Patriots and Lions on the road to the tune of 48/62 for 671 and a 6:1 TD:INT ratio. Sure the Patriots have a dumpster fire for a defense but the Lions are actually a very competent unit this year. Im banking on the trend being more based on Cam’s health then the opponent and in walks the Eagles and their questionable secondary. Over is the play as I expect a 300 yard performance on TNF.

4. Zach Ertz Over 5.5 receptions & 5. Over 60.5 yards

Yes this will certainly be the toughest matchup the Wentz/Ertz combo will face this year. But I just cant go against these totals when Ertz is clearly the #1 option in the offense pulling in 32 of 48 targets for 387 yards. Ertz as only gone under these totals once this year and matchup aside I don’t see Ertz not being heavily involved to the tune of 8-10 targets. As its become tradition I will predict a 7-85-1 line for the Stanford product here as he easily goes over both totals.

Good luck and Let it Ride!!!
