One of the guys put it bluntly: he doesn’t think this Oregon team is that good, and he doesn’t think that’s a crazy thing to say. If you’re passing on USC because of how they looked at Rutgers, he’d remind you that it was a letdown spot on the East Coast with Oregon on deck, and that Rutgers played it like their Super Bowl. A night game at home is a different story, and he doesn’t see why Oregon is favored at all.
Colby Dant went further and wants USC to win it outright. Oregon looks bad to him, and a rout of Portland State, a team he said had about two FCS wins a season ago, doesn’t sell him on anything. He also thinks the animosity sits with USC, since Oregon keeps pulling recruits out of Los Angeles. His summary: there’s blood in the water with the Ducks.
Kramer was “100%” on USC too. He hasn’t seen Oregon look impressive yet, and he isn’t counting Portland State, though he gave them credit for covering the big number. He also wondered aloud whether Dylan Raiola coming in and slinging it around against Portland State means a quarterback controversy is brewing in Eugene.
