Colby went first, and he started with the wreckage. South Carolina blew a double-digit lead at home to Mississippi State, and the crowd spent the game chanting “Fire Beamer.” He expects Beamer to be fired eventually. He wants him this week anyway. Alabama just got its revenge on Florida State, and as a heavy underdog Beamer has historically been the type to cover, so Colby sees Bama winning by 10 or so. They probably don’t win it, in his words, but it stays a one-score game.
The second vote for South Carolina came from the way Alabama plays its halves. The Tide keep turning into a second-half team and struggle to get away from people early. Florida State was putting it on them before the lightning delay, and the Kentucky game looked similar. That makes a South Carolina first-half money line worth a look as a parlay leg, and on the full game, 12.5 is a lot of points for a conference matchup.
The only Alabama ticket rested on a locker-room question: has Beamer lost the team? Once the seat gets hot in modern college football and boosters start talking in players’ ears, a roster can check out quickly, with players already thinking about the transfer portal and their next school. Colby didn’t think it had happened yet, though with a new athletic director in place he fully expects Beamer to be gone. That wasn’t enough to change the vote. The segment closed on “Roll Tide, lay it.”
