The New York Jets enter the 2026 NFL season coming off a brutal year, but this roster may not be quite as hopeless as last season’s record suggests.
On this episode of The Stephie Smalls Show, Stephie is joined by Will Parkinson of Turn on the Jets to break down the Jets from every angle: betting, fantasy football, win totals, player props, AFC East futures and the long-term direction of the franchise.
The biggest question is obvious: what does New York get from Geno Smith?
Geno does not need to be a star for the Jets to beat market expectations. The argument for the over is built around a simpler premise: if Geno can give New York top-20 quarterback play, this team may be closer to seven or eight wins than another full-on disaster. The offensive line has intriguing young pieces, Garrett Wilson should command a massive target share, and the Jets have invested heavily in young pass catchers and skill-position talent.
Fantasy football players will want to pay close attention to the Jets’ offense. Garrett Wilson remains the clear top option and could see monster volume if New York is committed to keeping him happy. Breece Hall is still the lead running back, but Braylon Allen is a fascinating late-round name, even if Will raises real concerns about whether Allen runs with the power his size suggests.
The tight end room may be even more interesting. Mason Taylor has a chance to rebound after an uneven year, while rookie Kenyon Sadiq stands out as one of the better late-round fantasy football darts on the roster. Stephie and Will discuss why Sadiq’s athletic profile, screen-game fit and red zone upside could make him a sneaky touchdown bet.
From a betting perspective, the Jets’ win total sits at 5.5, and the episode makes the case that New York may have a realistic path to the over. The early schedule is critical. If the Jets can avoid a disastrous start and get to the middle of the season around .500, the over could be live well before the final stretch of the year.
The AFC East discussion also gets spicy. Buffalo and New England may still be ahead of New York, but Miami’s roster concerns open the door for the Jets to avoid the division basement. That matters, because 2026 is not just about this season’s record. It is about proving the roster has enough good young players to make the quarterback decision matter in 2027.
Defensively, David Bailey is one of the most important rookies to watch. The Jets need pass-rush juice, and Bailey has a case as a defensive rookie sleeper if he can translate his college production quickly.
The Jets may not be a playoff team, but they also may not be the automatic doormat people expect. That makes them one of the more interesting ugly teams on the 2026 NFL betting board.
