The Buffalo Bills will make the short trip down the road to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sunday. AFC East divisional foe, the New York Jets, will await them for what should be a thrilling matchup. Let’s take a look at the Bills at Jets preview and predictions for NFL Week 2.
Buffalo had an instant classic in Week 1. They were getting embarrassed on Sunday Night Football by Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. They were down 15 points as the 4th quarter of the game began. Of course, the Bills went crazy in the 4th, dropping 22 points and stealing the victory.
New York has a similarly entertaining first game. Roles were reversed as former Jet, Aaron Rodgers, came to town as the Steelers quarterback. The Jets had their own Justin Fields, who played for Pittsburgh just last year. This was an evenly matched back-and-forth game where the Jets showed a lot of promise. Ultimately, they fell to Pittsburgh in the final quarter, but proved they could hang with a good team.
Buffalo Bills at New York Jets Preview and Predictions
Justin Fields Over 44.5 Rushing Yards (-111)
What wasn’t impressive about the Bills in Week 1 was their rushing defense. Lamar Jackson ran at will, with six carries for 70 yards. And once again, Derrick Henry ran rampant against the Bills, racking up a nice 169-yard game on the ground. The Jets played a tough Steelers defense, and many didn’t give them a chance in that game. But they came out swinging, and if not for a few small mistakes, they probably would have won that one. Justin Fields looked great through the air and did his deal on the ground as well, grabbing 48 rushing yards.
Justin Fields hit this number in three of the early games when he was starting for Pittsburgh last year before the team opted to go with Russell Wilson under center. In 2023, he cracked this number eight times, including a 100-yard game against the Detroit Lions, one of the best teams in the league. Justin will have to carry some of this load if the Jets want a chance at winning, and I think he’ll do just that.

Jets +6.5 (-107)
A couple of things go into this prediction in my NFL Week 2 picks here. The Bills are coming off the highest of highs after an emotionally draining victory over the Ravens. It might be harder for them to get up against a Jets team after a game like that. New York, on the other hand, is coming off a grueling game where they were on the losing end. They’ll be motivated to show that it wasn’t a fluke and that they can hang with Buffalo. I don’t think the Jets will win this game, but they should make it another close divisional game.
