NFL Week 1 was an exciting one! Now, we ramp up for Week 2. Some players played up to expectations, some didn’t, and some blew expectations out of the water with their performances. So, who should we target for Week 2 of the NFL Prop Shop’s best player prop bets? Let’s dive in!
Week 2 kicks off with a big NFC game at historic Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The Packers will host the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football. Sunday brings the bulk of the action with plenty of intriguing games on the line, headlined by a Sunday night showdown between the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis. Week 2 ends with a Monday Night Doubleheader of the Buccaneers at Texans and Chargers at Raiders.
NFL Prop Shop: Top Week 2 Player Prop Bets
Austin Ekeler Over 21.5 Receiving Yards (-108)
Let’s kick off the NFL Prop Shop with the Week 2 Thursday Night game. We saw the new Green Bay Packers pass rush last week be extremely effective against the Lions. It forced Jared Goff to check down, probably a lot more than he intended to. Jahmyr Gibbs ended up with 10 catches as a result, tallying up 31 receiving yards, and David Montgomery added four catches for 18 yards. Ekeler was the go-to receiving back out of the backfield with three catches for 31 yards.
Croskey-Merrit ended up the lead rusher, but only got one target. Ekeler’s catches over 2.5 is juiced up past -150, showing us even the books think he gets a number of check downs. He turned three catches into 31 yards last week. This week, he only needs to get to 22. With Micah Parsons breathing down Jayden Daniels’ neck, look for him to go after Ekeler, who can still get it done catching the ball out of the backfield.
Justin Fields Over 44.5 Rushing Yards (-111)
The Buffalo Bills looked impressive in Week 1 with their big comeback, taking down the Baltimore Ravens. What wasn’t impressive was their rushing defense. Lamar Jackson ran at will, with six carries for 70 yards. And once again, Derrick Henry ran rampant against the Bills, racking up a nice 169-yard game on the ground. The Jets played a tough Steelers defense, and many didn’t give them a chance in that game. But they came out swinging, and if not for a few small mistakes, they probably would have won that one. Justin Fields looked great through the air and did his deal on the ground as well, grabbing 48 rushing yards.
Justin Fields ran for 1,143 Yards + 8 TD’s in 2022..
Now he gets to play behind Armand Membou and Olu Fashanu.. Membou allowed 0 pressures (25 pass blocking snaps)..
3 TD’s, 0 INT’s in his 1st start with the Jets was highly promising

This will be a big game for New York as they host the AFC East’s division favorites in this Week 2 matchup. Justin Fields hit this number in three of the early games when he was starting for Pittsburgh last year before the team opted to go with Russell Wilson under center. In 2023, he cracked this number eight times, including a 100-yard game against the Detroit Lions, one of the best teams in the league. Justin will have to carry some of this load if the Jets want a chance at winning, and I think he’ll do just that.
Brian Thomas Jr Over 67.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
This is one of my favorite bets on the board for Week 2 NFL action. We tried to go with Thomas Jr last week, but he let us down. Luckily, the Jaguars also tried to go with Thomas Jr. He had seven targets in the game, but he just couldn’t bring them down and ended up with a single catch for 11 yards. He did get a rushing touchdown, and the Jaguars know they need to get the ball into Thomas’s hand. The Jaguars still won, but they won’t have as easy a time staying in this one without Thomas Jr’s help. He’s going against one of the worst defenses in the league, which gave up three 60+ yard receivers to the Cleveland Browns last week.

Thomas Jr is one of the many second-year wide receivers from last year’s breakout class that’s looking to have an even bigger year two. Thomas tore up the league down the stretch in 2024. Over the last five games of the season, he cruised past this number, and in three of those games, he had over 100 yards. He had over 78 yards in all seven of the Jaguars’ games down the stretch. He went over that mark in 11 of Jacksonville’s games last year. Don’t let a bad Week 1 keep you down on this star wide receiver. He’ll make up for it in Week 2.
Kyren Williams Over 76.5 Rushing Yards (-113)
Kyren Williams was a stud last year for the Rams. Racking up 1,299 yards over 16 games. He went over 69 yards in six of the last seven games of the year and 12 of the last 13. I would have liked to see a better start to the season in Week 1, getting just 66 yards on the ground. But the Rams were playing the Houston Texans, who are projected to be a good defense this year.
Kyren Williams is BACK 👀
He led the NFL with 70.2 pct of team carries, 73.6 pct of team rush yards and 93.3 pct of team rush TD in 2024

This week, they’ll take on the Titans, who gave up 133 yards on the ground to the RJ Harvey and JK Dobbins duo in Denver last week. The Rams don’t subscribe to sharing the carries; Williams gets them all. Outside of Matthew Stafford’s kneel-downs that count as rush attempts, there wasn’t a single other player with more than one attempt on the ground for the Rams in Week 1. It’s the Kyren Williams show, and I expect him to easily cruise past this number in Week 2 against a weak Titans defense.
