Nobody wanted Duke laying the points. North Carolina visits Durham, NC on Saturday, October 17 at 12:30 PM PT / 3:30 PM ET, and Duke was a 3.5-point favorite with a total of 47.5 when the guys taped on October 13. All three took North Carolina +3.5 on the College Football Picks Week 7 episode, and two of them think the Tar Heels win it outright.
North Carolina vs Duke Odds
Duke was a 3.5-point home favorite over North Carolina with a total of 47.5 when the guys taped on October 13. On air the money line was Duke -154 and North Carolina +128.
Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): North Carolina +3.5
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): North Carolina +3.5
- Colby Dant (@thecolbyd): North Carolina +3.5
Colby made the loudest case. In his view Carolina should be 4-1, and it was the better team the day it played Clemson until a lightning delay wrecked the game. He likes their tight end, figures the offense improves the more the players learn what Petrino wants, and gave Duke credit for a better season than he expected. His problem with the Blue Devils is the schedule: “not a lot of meat on the bone,” while Carolina has played the tougher slate. Keep the points, he said, because they’re winning this on the money line.
One of the guys pointed back to North Carolina’s showing against Notre Dame as the reason he’d backed them on the money line against Pitt, and said their defense is playing really well. Colby added a revenge angle, since Duke pulled out a one-score game in this matchup last year.
Ryan admitted he doesn’t have an opinion on Duke yet, but he noticed what comes next for them: a Friday night game against Virginia. He didn’t call it a lookahead spot, only a weekday game worth noting. His closing line was simple enough. Take the points, take the money line.
