Well, degens. Night one of the NHL Playoff season came and went with an absolutely pathetic zero out of three performances. There is no excuse for that at all other than Underdog God’s smiting us. On Sunday, there is a four-game slate, and The Quick Pick is determined to get it back going. They say defense wins championships, and for that reason, tonight, we’re keying in on three stud defensemen. So, don’t be late to the Underdog party because this train’s next stop is banger-ville. Here are my three best NHL Underdog Fantasy Picks for April 21.

The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for April 21
Adam Fox Higher Than 0.5 Points
The New York Rangers come into these playoffs with a Presidents Trophy already in their cabinet. Now, the real test begins as their series against the Capitals opens this afternoon. The Rangers roster was so, so good this year, but for the opener, we’re honing in on defenseman Adam Fox.
He finished the regular season with 17 goals and 56 assists for a total of 73 points. Fox also tallied points in four of his last five games to finish the season. Just one more little nugget: Adam Fox managed to accrue three points in four games against the Caps in the regular season. The numbers look right. The conditions appear favorable. We’re taking Adam Fox to go Higher Than 0.5 Points in Game One against the Capitals.
Cale Makar Higher Than 0.5 Points
Our second NHL Underdog entry today goes from one stud defenseman to another. The Colorado Avalanche are stumbling into Game One against Winnipeg, having lost five of their last eight. With that being said, they have the talent and offensive firepower to at least win one playoff series.
Defenseman Cale Makar finished the season on 90 points, with a NICE 69 assists. He also finished the regular season on a heater, tallying points in six of his final seven games. Looking deeper at the numbers, Makar did not have a point in two games against the Jets in the regular season.
So, tonight, it’s a third-times-the-charm situation paired with a recent heater status. We’re taking Cale Makar Higher Than 0.5 Points against the Winnipeg Jets.
Quinn Hughes Higher Than 0.5 Point
Hiding behind door number three of our NHL Underdog banger is Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes. He and the Canucks had a solid regular season which saw Hughes tally 92 points. Tonight, Game One of their series versus the Nashville Predators promises to be a good one.
There is really only one reason I am locking in Quinn Hughes as part of this three-pack banger. And that’s because Hughes absolutely destroyed the Predators in the regular season.
He tallied a monster six points in just three games against them. So, let’s keep it nice and easy with the anchor for our banger. Go ahead and take Quinn Hughes Higher Than 0.5 Points against the Predators.
