Well, degens. To say that this week has been tough sledding would probably be an understatement. Our Thursday night entries went just one out of three again, and we’ve hit a bit of an Underdog snag. But this isn’t some Op-Ed or a “bitch and moan” session. The Quick Pick stands by their overall performance and is determined to cash on Friday night. Luckily for us, the NHL offers up a solid five-game slate to begin our weekend.
So pour yourself a strong drink. Let’s get back to the basics, and quit dicking around. Here are my three best NHL Underdog Fantasy Picks for April 12.

The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for April 12
Jordan Kyrou Higher Than 0.5 Points
The St. Louis Blues come into Friday night’s home matchup against the Hurricanes in a do-or-die situation. The fancy-schmancy computers have the Blue’s odds to make the playoffs at a whopping 1%. But for our purposes, we’re keying in on 25-year-old center Jordan Kyrou. The Ontario native has 65 points this season and has back-to-back multi-point nights.
And he’s now on a four-game point streak, with tallies in eight of his last 10 games. So, in a must-win game, we’re taking the hot-handed Kyrou to at least find a point. Go ahead and press the Higher Than 0.5 Points on Jordan Kyrou to get our Underdog card started.
Gustav Nyquist Higher Than 0.5 Points
The Nashville Predators have clinched their seat at the Western Conference playoff table. Friday night, they head to Chicago for a dance with one of the league’s bottom-feeders. Swedish center Gustav Nyquist has put together a very respectable 22-goal and 50-assist campaign.
Nyquist has four points across his last four games and has notched points in 10 of his last 13 games. Moreover, this guy has cooked the Blackhawks for two goals and an assist in three games against this season. Let’s grab our hammers and smash Gustav Nyquist Higher Than 0.5 Points against the Blackhawks on Friday night.
Brock Faber Higher Than 0.5 Points (1.1x Odds)
Our third Underdog entry tonight will be skating for the Minnesota Wild, but only to gain valuable NHL experience. The Wild are done, but 21-year-old defenseman Brock Faber has had quite the rookie campaign. With 43 points on the season, he has razzled and dazzled for his hockey club.
He comes into tonight’s game having tallied points in four of his last eight games. But he has also notched three points in two games against the VGK this season. There is a little extra mustard on this one, but we’re taking Brock Faber Higher Than 0.5 Points and knocking this banger in.
