The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for December 30

The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for December 30

We’re now three nights removed from the NHL holiday break, and it’s been three nights of Insured play’s cashing. After going two for three on Friday, Quick Pick trailers utilizing the Insured option returned 1x on their financial investment. If you’re keeping score at home, we’re now six for our last nine.

And we’ve returned over 3x on our initial investments this week alone. Let’s keep things rolling as we move into Saturday, which offers a nine-game NHL slate. So grab those nets because we’re catching a beautiful butterfly that looks like a fourth straight cash. Here are my three best NHL Underdog Fantasy Picks for December 30.

The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for December 30

Chris Kreider Higher Than 0.5 Assists (1.5x Odds)

The New York Rangers appear to be heading into 2024 in a three-way race for the President’s Trophy. A large part of their success is due to the magnificent play of 32-year-old American winger Chris Kreider. Saturday night, Kreider skates into Tampa Bay on a five-game point streak.

Concurrent with the point streak, he’s managed to tally at least one assist in each of those five games. With a 1.5x odds price on Kreider tonight, someone better call the cops; there’s a robbery in progress. Our first NHL Underdog entry is Chris Kreider Higher Than 0.5 Assists against the Lightning on Saturday night.

Carter Verhaeghe Higher Than 0.5 Assists (1.25x Odds)

Here in the month of December, the Florida Panthers have been a particularly good hockey team. Exhibit A: their current three-game win streak over the VGK, the Lightning, and the Rangers. Carter Verhaeghe, the 28-year-old centerman from Toronto, ON, is now sporting four points on the win streak.

With assists in two of those three games against top competition, I like his chances against the Canadiens on Saturday. Let’s trust the cat they call “Swaggy Verhaeghe” to bring our second NHL Underdog horse into the barn. Go ahead and take Carter Verhaeghe to go Higher Than 0.5 Assists against the Montreal Canadiens on home ice.

Evan Bouchard Higher Than 0.5 Points

The Edmonton Oilers will skate into Los Angeles on Saturday night in search of their fourth straight win. I had to do a quick double-take when I first saw Evan Bouchard’s line listed at 0.5 points. Why? Because the 24-year-old star defenseman is averaging over one point per game this season.

He has certainly cooled off in his last five games, but his team is starting to figure it out. And just last season, in four games against the Kings, he managed to log a point in three of them. So, in the city of angels, we’re praying to the Underdog gods for a point from Evan Bouchard. Let’s nab Evan Bouchard at Higher Than 0.5 Points in LA and go for a fourth straight winner!
