By now, loyal readers of The Quick Pick are well-versed in my hatred of the Toronto Maple Leafs. But like I’ve always said, this article’s purpose is to pick winners, not favorites. Tuesday night, Tavares and the Leafs are on home ice against the New York Rangers.
After recently tallying career point 1,000, Tavares is up to nine goals and 20 assists in 2023. He also rides a seven-game point streak into Tuesday, with seven total assists inside of the streak. For the pedigree Tavares has, and the recent form he is in, 1.25x odds for an assist is theft.

The Colorado Avalanche pay the Chicago Blackhawks a visit on Tuesday night and Mikko Rantanen is a man on fire. The Finnish winger is now sporting a four-game point streak, with three goals and five assists across that stretch.
Rantanen sits on 24 assists in 31 games this season, and one of those came against Chicago earlier this year. This contest should see the Avalanche light the lamp several times, so a Rantanen apple is ripe for the picking. Grab your baskets.

Mikael Granlund Higher Than 0.5 Points
If NHL Underdog is going to keep setting Granlund’s line at 0.5 Points, we’re going to keep hammering it. Tuesday night, the Sharks welcome the Kings onto their ice, and Granlund most definitely figures to be a factor.
While his goal tally is down a bit in 2023, his assists are up to 18 in 24 games played. He is coming off a two-assist night on Sunday and has 14 points in his last eight games. In Finland, Santa is called Joulupukki, so on Tuesday night, we’ll ask him for a Granlund point against LA.
