UFC Vegas 65 DraftKings Picks, Fantasy UFC

After an epic UFC 281 at Madison Square Garden last weekend, we’re back to the cozy confines of the UFC Apex this Saturday for UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Spivak (aka UFC Vegas 65). We get a clash of top heavyweights in the main event, with a very solid undercard leading up to it. Here is a winning UFC Vegas 65 DraftKings lineup to get us in the money.

UFC Vegas 65 DraftKings Picks, Fantasy UFC

Jack Della Maddalena – $9,600

UFC Vegas 65 DraftKings Picks, Fantasy UFC

My top pickup this week is Australian super-prospect Jack Della Maddalena. He has a welterweight matchup against Danny Roberts on Saturday, a slight step up in competition for the young Aussie, but a hurdle that he should have no problem clearing. Della Maddalena can really crack, so I think there’s a very solid chance he finishes Roberts off via strikes on Saturday. Which would make him three for three in the UFC with triple-digit fantasy point performances.

Maryna Moroz – $9,000

Proud Ukrainian Maryna Moroz showed incredible wrestling and grappling in her last fight, where she submitted rival Mariya Agapova and scored 108 points. This makes it two straight fights where she topped the century mark in fantasy points, as the fight before she posted 111 points. She seems to be getting better and better with each fight, while this week’s opponent, Jennifer Maia, seems to be headed in the opposite direction.

Brady Hiestand – $8,500

Brady Hiestand has fought for years – including his stint on The Ultimate Fighter and his UFC debut – with a torn ACL. Now that he has it repaired, I’m expecting him to bounce back from his debut loss and top Fernie Garcia this week. He’s bigger, younger, and a better grappler than Garcia. Plus, even in defeat, Hiestand showed he’s a good fantasy point earner, putting up 78.4 last fight.

Vanessa Demopoulos – $8,000

‘Lil’ Monster’ Vanessa Demopoulos is the older, smaller, poorer striker in her women’s strawweight fight against Maria Oliveira, yet I’m still picking her to win. Why? Grappling. Oliveira is not a very good grappler, while Demopoulos excels in that area. Plus, her resume is much, much stronger than Oliveira’s. With 92 and 70 fantasy points in her last two fights, ‘Lil’ Monster’ should be a solid addition for $8,000.

Andre Fialho – $7,900

Muslim Salikhov looked really bad and, frankly, old in his last fight, so I’ll gladly fade him here and take opponent Andre Fialho for only $7,900. Fialho is 10 years younger than Salikhov, and has four inches of reach on him. And he’s capable of real big fantasy point explosions, posting 107 and 113 points two and three fights ago, respectively.

Derrick Lewis – $7,000

UFC Vegas 65 DraftKings Picks, Fantasy UFC

We finish off where Saturday’s festivities also finish off – the main event. In it I’m taking fan favorite Derrick Lewis, a sizeable underdog against Sergey Spivak. That is because Spivak is younger, a better technical striker, and a way better grappler. But all that doesn’t matter, because no one outside of Francis Ngannou hits like Derrick Lewis hits. And I don’t think Spivak will be able to avoid being touched by Lewis. It will only take one slip up for it to be lights out.
