The UFC is back in San Diego for the first time in seven years, and in honor of it, I have a winning UFC San Diego DraftKings lineup for you. I know – very generous of me. I’ve split my six-fighter lineup up with three big-money fighters supplemented with three bargain pickups. Let’s go!

UFC San Diego DraftKings Roster, Fantasy UFC
Gabriel Benitez – $9,300
My big addition this week is Gabriel ‘Moggly’ Benitez, which is surprising since he’s lost two straight and four of his last five. But this pick-up is much more of a fade of his opponent, Charlie Ontiveros, than it is an endorsement of Benitez. Ontiveros has been TKO’d in both of his UFC fights and is a very pedestrian 11-8.
Ode’ Osbourne – $8,800
Next up is flyweight Ode’ Osbourne. A very big flyweight at that. He’ll have five inches of reach on opponent Tyson Nam this week and is also the better and more active striker, so that reach will come in handy. He’s also nine years younger, which is a big deal for a weight class that relies on speed and athleticism. Osbourne has topped the century mark in fantasy points in two of his last four fights, including his last outing. Let’s make it two straight come Saturday night.
Marlon Vera – $8,500
I head to the main event for my last high-priced addition, adding Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera to the squad. Once again, bantamweight, like flyweight, is a weight class where youth, athleticism, and speed matter, and Vera is seven years younger than Dominick Cruz. And, despite being in the UFC three years less than Cruz, he’s fought 10 more times than the former two-time champion. Cruz is just too old and has spent too much time on the sidelines with injuries for me to back him here. And Vera hits very hard, is impossible to finish, and finds a way to grit out wins. This also makes him a reliable fantasy point earner, getting at least 95 points in four of his last five fights.
Nina Nunes – $7,900
I had Nina Nunes on my UFC Vegas 58 DraftKings lineup before she pulled out last minute with an illness. Now the fight against Cynthia Calvillo is back on. Here’s what I wrote then, which still stands. I’m counting on Nina Nunes to get off of her skid and start scoring in the 70-90 fantasy point range like she was doing in years past. I trust her more to perform well this weekend than her opponent, Cynthia Calvillo, and should be able to use her wrestling and strength to get her hand raised.
Priscila Cachoeira – $7,800
Once again, I already had Priscila Cachoeira in my lineup, last week, before her fight got pushed ahead to this week. Here are my thoughts then and now. She’s won three of her last four and scored big points in all three of them: 128, 87, and 77 points. She’s extremely hard to finish, has dynamite in her hands, and isn’t afraid to break some rules to get a win. Opponent Ariane Lipski has underwhelmed thus far in her UFC career – I think Cachoeira can beat her.
Devin Clark – $7,800
Last, but not least, I’m picking up Devin ‘Brown Bear’ Clark on the cheap. He’s been inconsistent, but he scored 107 fantasy points in his last fight and is now training at elevation with heavyweight beast Curtis Blaydes. I’m not sold on Azamat Murzakanov and he’s had cardio issues, so I think Clark can take advantage of that weakness.
