Summary-
The decision to allow Manchester City to overturn City’s Champions League ban, has completely changed the face of the EPL season, with only the top 4 securing a Champions League spot, while the Europa places will only go to 5th and 6th.
With just 3 games to, Chelsea, Leicester and Manchester United all are separated by a single point in their pursuit of Champions League football, however, Leicester significantly harder run-in sees them come up against Sheff United, while their two rivals are expected to cruise to wins, with Chelsea hosting already-relegated Norwich and Manchester United travelling to Crystal Palace.
Game of Week: Arsenal vs Liverpool
This isn’t too much on the line here, but if you’re looking for hooks, then you’d look at Liverpool chasing the EPL points record, with Arsenal chasing a Europa League spot. The goals may flow in this one, as 49 goals have been scored in the last 9 competitive meetings between these sides – a as n average of 5.44 goals per game- while Over 2.5 goals has landed in 8 of these matches, with both teams scoring in all but one.
The combined XI is a Liverpool almost a Liverpool clean sweep, with only Aubameyang getting in over Firmino. One can only wonder why Klopp didn’t sign his former player, when Dortmund were eventually ready to offload him.
Prediction-
Liverpool have won just 1 of their last 6 competitive away matches, opening the door for Arsenal – who have only lost 1 of their 9 home games in all competitions in 2020 – to steal an upset win. While I’m not sure if Arsenal band LFC their 3rd, I do expect Arsenal to avoid one themselves.
Score- Arsenal 1 Liverpool 1
Best Bet- Arsenal +0.5 @ 6/5
