NFL Teams To Look Out For In 2018
The NFL season is under way and the sweet sixteen are making themselves known. In this article, we are going to focus on the NFL teams we think will bounce back in 2018. Syracuse were team 68 out of 68 and are still one of the 16 teams playing. This season has brought about some surprises too including the fact that the South Region doesn’t have a 1, 2, 3, or 4 seed still playing. Things can change fast. Eight of the 12 teams that qualified for the playoffs in 2017 missed in 2016 so even if your team suffered in 2017, this year could be a lot better. With all this going on, let’s take a look at the NFL teams we think you need to watch.
NFL Teams to Watch
New England Patriots: The Patriots have seen some losses including Nate Solder, Dion Lewis, Danny Amendola, and Malcolm Butler. They still have two great players though, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
Pittsburgh Steelers: a talented team with Morgan Burnett in defensive. Todd Hayley won’t be calling the play which is good and Le’Veon Bell is back too.
Los Angeles Chargers: The Mike Pouncey signing is great and Forrest Lamp is set to be fit and healthy after his torn ACL. These two are great for the offensive line.
Houston Texans: Deshaun Watson, J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus are back. Honey Badger is also joining the team. We think the Texans are really going to shine in the NFL this season. This team finished 4-12 in 2017 and don’t have a first-round pick because of a trade they made in 2017 for quarterback Deshaun Watson. 2017 also saw a lot of injuries, but thankfully all players are fit and well now. The Jacksonville Jaguars could be a force to be reckoned with in the AFC South. We predict that the Texans are primed for a strong comeback season in 2018 and a great choice for NFL sportsbetting.
Oakland Raiders: Jordy Nelson is a great addition to the team and Jon Gruden is there too.
Jacksonville Jaguars: This team has a great defense and running back. They also have Tom Coughlin, so we expect big things from them.
Buffalo Bills: We are expecting this team to draft a quarterback and they are poised to make a comeback during 2018.
Cleveland Browns: Another relevant team that has great potential and there is a lot expected from Myles Garrett.
Philadelphia Eagles: This is the team that won the Super Bowl and Carson Wentz is coming back. We expect this team to be the number 1 seed.
Minnesota Vikings: Kirk Cousins has made the Vikings Super Bowl contenders. They have one of the best defenses in the NFL.
Los Angeles Rams: Rams fans will be looking forward to seeing how Wade Phillips and Sean McVay do in 2018, Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib are joining the best
defense too.
Atlanta Falcons: This team came very close to beating the Eagles in the Divisional Round and we are expecting even better from Matt Ryan in 2018.
San Francisco 49ers: The 49ers are one to watch this year. They’ve signed Richard Sherman boosting their defense and good things are expected. The 49ers finished 2017 6-1 and won all five games started by Jimmy Garoppolo. They also have ample cap space and will have a top-10 pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Add to this that the Arizona Cardinals look like a very old team and the Seattle Seahawks look a lot different to last year and the 49ers look set for great things.
Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers is healthy and this team are poised for great things. They’ve also picked up Jimmy Graham and Mo Wilkerson.
New Orleans Saints: Drew Brees is back and Alvin Kamari is getting better along with this team’s defense.
Dallas Cowboys: If Ezekiel Elliott is available for all 16 games this team could make the playoffs.
New York Jets: The Jets had a 5-11 mark in 2017 but lost six of those games by eight points or fewer. In 2016, they were also 5-11 but only had three such losses. They are moving in the right direction. The New York Jets have ample cap space coming into 2018 and they have the sixth overall pick and three picks in the first two rounds. They also have a franchise quarterback which could come via free agency with someone like Kirk Cousins or via the draft. This could mean a more settled team than we’ve seen in recent years.
Chicago Bears: For the bears to be successful this year they’ll need to find a franchise quarterback. They have the potential franchise signal caller on the roster and it’s important that Mitchell Trubisky takes a big step forward this year. This team has great running backs with Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen. They do have to improve their receiver position though. If the receivers are upgraded and Trubisky plays well, the Bears could be a formidable team.
Indianapolis Colts: For this team, Chris Ballard needs to do a better job than Ryan Grigson. They need a better offensive line, a better defense, and a more complete running game. Frank Gore is 35 in May and a pending free agent. Josh McDaniels will be watched too. This coach had a disaster with the Denver Broncos so we’ll be hoping he learned from his mistakes. What the Colts do have is Andrew Luck and he should be back from his shoulder injury. If he does then we can expect great things for the Colts.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: This team has the seventh overall pick in the draft but there’s nothing to signal any big personnel changes are coming. Tampa finished 5-11 in 2017 as one of the most disappointing teams. They have the talent though with the likes of James Winston and Mike Evans.
New York Giants: This is the team that made the playoffs in 2016 and entered the 2017 season all ready for the Super Bowl. It didn’t happen though and 2017 was a disaster. Things change fast in the NFL and we’re hoping that they can change for the good too. Odell Beckham Jr. will be back from injury and we have Evan Engram too. Defense will be led by Landon Collins, but we’re not sure if Eli Manning will be back in quarterback position.
