Kansas City Chiefs at New York Giants Preview and Predictions

Kansas City Chiefs at New York Giants Preview and Predictions

Sunday Night Football is a battle between two 0-2 teams with a lot of questions on the line. The Kansas City Chiefs, with a serious case of the Super Bowl hangover, are 0-2 for the first time since 2014. The New York Giants are coming off a valiant effort in their loss to the Cowboys. Let’s take a look at this Sunday Night Football preview and predictions.

MYBOOKIE BONUS

It’s been a true case of that Super Bowl hangover for the Chiefs. We often see it with teams that lose the Super Bowl; they come out flat. The Chiefs were uncharacteristically beaten by two teams that just played better than them. In Week 1, it was the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil. In Week 2, it was the Super Bowl rematch with the Philadelphia Eagles, and the results were the same.

The New York Giants looked bad in Week 1. The Washington Commanders had their way with New York and easily beat them at home. Week 2, the Giants looked like a completely different team. They came out swinging and went shot for shot, for shot, for shot with the Dallas Cowboys. They forced overtime, but fell short of getting the win.

Kansas City Chiefs at New York Giants Preview and Predictions

Malik Nabers Over 80.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

I fully expect this to be a game dominated by the Kansas City Chiefs. That would actually be fine for this bet, because if the Giants are down big, they’ll need to throw the ball more. Either way, I do know that Malik Nabers is one of the best wide receivers in the league, and Russell Wilson has quickly learned that.

In their epic game against the Cowboys last week, Nabers caught nine passes for 167 yards, including a long bomb of 48 yards. The Chargers showed us in Week 1 the damage top-level wide receivers can do to this secondary. Nabers will likely be the biggest bright spot on the field for the Giants in Week 3.

Kansas City Chiefs -5.5 (-110)

This is my favorite bet of the week. The Kansas City Chiefs come into this one 0-2 and looking to avoid 0-3. It’s a prime time game where Mahomes can shine in New York City. The Giants are coming off a big emotional game against the Cowboys that went into overtime. It’s Andy Reid against Brian Daboll. The Chiefs won’t start the year 0-3, and I’ll be laddering the alt spread up to -13.5 (+220) for the Chiefs.
