Before the guys picked a side, they pictured a short, grinding service academy game with very few possessions. Air Force and Army meet on Saturday, November 7 at 4:30 PM PT / 7:30 PM ET in West Point, NY, and the number they played was Air Force +3.5 when the guys taped on November 3. All three took the points on the College Football Picks Week 10 episode.
Air Force vs Army Odds
Army was a 3.5-point favorite with a total of 45.5 when the guys taped on November 3. Air Force was +134 on the money line.
Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): Air Force +3.5
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): Air Force +3.5
- Colby Dant (@TheColbyD): Air Force +3.5
The first argument was the simplest. You get more than a field goal in a service academy game, and the guys pointed out that Army won last year by three. In their words, you take the points every time.
Then they got into the matchup. The guys said Air Force has the better offensive line and the better defense, which they said charts 23rd in the country while Army is 111th in yards per game. They also noted Air Force is down to its third quarterback and has stayed successful anyway, and a quarterback who ran 35 times for 200 yards and four touchdowns in a recent game.
Chat pushed for the money line, and one of the guys leaned that way even with Air Force traveling cross country. All three still took the 3.5 points. On the total, they called it a system play and floated the under at 45.5, since they expected so few possessions.
