Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): Illinois +4.5
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): Illinois +4.5
- Colby Dant (@TheColbyD): Illinois +4.5
Colby led the segment with Nebraska’s loss to Washington at home. By his telling, Nebraska held a 7-3 lead and Washington missed a field goal that would have made it 7-6. Then a fourth and 18 conversion, a touchdown on the next play from bad tackling and a pick six followed within about 10 seconds. He called it a team with bad voodoo and said the offense scored only seven points at home.
From there he went straight to the pick. Illinois has its starting quarterback back, and Colby said he played well in the last game. He called the Illini the better team right now and said he can’t trust Nebraska on the road. He wanted Illinois to win outright.
The others added the defense and the price. They noted Illinois allowed only 10 points at home to Oregon, and that the best way to judge both teams is to watch how each played Oregon. Then came the line itself. How do you make Nebraska a conference road favorite on a short week? The guys suspected there was something about this game they didn’t know, and they called Illinois live on the money line.
