Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): Duke -4.5
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): Duke -4.5
- Colby Dant (@TheColbyD): Duke -4.5
Colby went first, and he came in tired of being wrong. He had faded Duke for a few weeks and, by his own account, ate it every time. He said he was done and tapped out, then took Duke. He also pointed out that Manny Diaz has beaten NC State in each of his games against them, and the guys put that at 4-0. NC State got its interim-coach bump with a 31-10 win over Cal, which Colby cashed on, and now it is game two.
The Diaz record came up again, along with a favorite angle: fade a team in the game after it wins one for the new coach. Laying points with a road favorite coming off a huge win was not a thrilling idea. The points got laid anyway.
Ryan called it the game after the game. His bigger point was the ACC race. He said Duke is in a bubble of two-loss teams, and that if Wake Forest slips up, the league could end up with three teams at two losses and a silly tiebreaker to sort it out. His prediction was all Duke.
