The NFL offseason is in full swing, and we continue to find different ways to add NFL Futures to our portfolio. We’ve looked at all sorts of different types of NFL bets that you can sit on during the regular season and sweat out. Today, we’re taking a look at the most interceptions thrown. Let’s take a look at some of the top picks for this bet! Because let’s be honest, it’s always fun to bet on a guy throwing an interception.
NFL Futures: Most Interceptions Thrown
Geno Smith (+850)
The first NFL futures bet to discuss for most interceptions thrown is Geno Smith. The trouble with picking an interception leader is that you have to consider guys who most likely won’t get benched. We wouldn’t pick Tua, because if he throws that many interceptions, Penix will take the job back. The same goes for a guy like J.J. McCarthy, who I don’t think will start this season, barring injury.
Geno Smith led the league in interceptions last year. Now he finds himself back on the same team that drafted him, the New York Jets. His backups include rookie Cade Klubnik, and young backups Brady Cook and Bailey Zappe. As long as Geno is healthy, I don’t see them rolling out one of these other quarterbacks.
His 17 interceptions last year beat Tua’s interception rate by two. He finds himself in a new offense, on a new team, and will likely draw the start. His consistency has been dropping, and I don’t expect this to be the second coming of his career. He’s the favorite, but at +850, that’s good money even as a favorite.
Sam Darnold (+1500)
I know Sam Darnold had a great year last year. He’s a Super Bowl champ! So, of course, he had a great year last year. However, he still managed to finish third in interceptions. The Seahawks, in general, had a dominating season last year. Despite Darnold finishing third in interceptions, they still had the best record in the NFL.
After losing multiple free agents on both sides of the ball, this team lost a lot of production. I’m not positive they’ll be able to make up for that lost production either. The defense will take a step back, and Zach Charbonnet won’t be as effective without Kenneth Walker. Therefore, I think they’ll play from behind in more games and throw more often.
More throws are good for an NFL futures bet when you’re betting for interceptions. Therefore, it’s hard for me to pass up Sam Darnold as an option at +1500.
Baker Mayfield (+1500)
I’m sorry, Baker. On the same day that I talked about Baker and the Bucs not scoring enough points, now I’m throwing out an NFL Futures saying Baker could lead the league in interceptions and that you should bet it. However, I can only tell you what my gut is telling me.
My gut is saying this team is going to take a step back this year. That’s following a difficult year last year, too. Baker looked a little more reckless as time went on throughout the 2025 season. He finished tied with the seventh most interceptions with 11.
Fast forward to 2026, where I think he’ll have less protection, more pressure, and I don’t fully trust his receiving crew. I’d be silly not to sprinkle a little on him for this interception bet, especially at +1500.
Trevor Lawrence (+1200)
The last quarterback to throw in our NFL Futures bets for interceptions thrown is Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence enters his second year in Liam Coen’s offense. If you didn’t watch, his offense can be pretty aggressive. The Jaguars let Travis Etienne walk in free agency, and I think they’ll end up regretting it. I also think it’ll lead them to needing to throw the ball more often.
Last year, Trevor Lawrence threw 12 interceptions, which was tied for fifth. Lawrence made do with his weapons last year. However, it’s not exactly a bunch of big names. His starting receiving corps consists of Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers, and Parker Washington.
With needing to throw the ball more often in an already aggressive offense, Trevor Lawrence to lead the league in interceptions is a decent bet at +1200. With four choices for futures, I feel good about one of these guys being the quarterback who throws the most interceptions, making us some cash!
