The Houston Texans come into this divisional-round matchup with a few injury concerns. First, offensive lineman Shaq Mason continues to be out and not practicing with a knee injury. Additionally, Juice Scruggs also has not practiced this week and is dealing with an ankle injury. A few other injuries to be concerned about for the Texans is linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, Robert Woods, and Denico Autry.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs are coming into this game healthy and off a bye week. We know the history of Andy Reid having extra time to prepare. The only injury concern for the Chiefs is wide receiver Mecole Hardman who is dealing with a knee injury and has not practiced this week.

Best Bets

There’s no question that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have not only won games but also covered spreads in the playoffs. In fact, in 18 career playoff games, Mahomes is 13-5 ATS. As I mentioned above, these two teams met during the regular season, and the Chiefs won and covered the game as a three-point favorite 27-19.

Since the 2018 season, including the playoffs, the Chiefs are 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS against the Texans. The Texans are limited on offense and are going to have to rely on their defense to show up in this game against the Chiefs. Will it be enough? I am not sure. The Chiefs have been in this spot several times and I expect them to show up and dominate.

Best Bet: Chiefs -8.5

Player Prop Best Bet

Dalton Schultz Over 37.5 Receiving Yards

The Kansas City Chiefs ended the regular season allowing the most receiving yards to the tight end position. The Texans suffered two season-ending injuries for their wide receivers Diggs and Dell. If the Texans want to pull off the upset win they will need it to be a collective effort. Earlier this season, Schultz logged 45 receiving yards against the Chiefs and I expect him to find success in this game. The Chiefs allowed 70.1 receiving yards per game to the tight end position. I like this prop up to 40.5 for Schultz.
