A true degen would’ve told you last night was over before it even started after one of the three games was postponed. Well, let’s forget about Wednesday and move on to the 11-game slate on Thursday. There is still plenty of winning to be done this week, and tonight, we’re cooking up a tasty banger. So, let The Quick Pick set the table. All you need to do is sit down and enjoy. The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for January 18
Jack Quinn Higher Than 0.5 Points
A snowstorm postponed the Blackhawks and Sabres on Wednesday, so let’s try this NHL Underdog entry again tonight. The loyal readers will recall I am a struggling Buffalo fan, but this pick holds water. Tonight (hopefully), the depleted Blackhawks will trudge through the Buffalo snow, and I smell a Jack Quinn point.
He put in a solid performance against the Sharks on MLK Day, tallying an assist. And he’s spending time on a Sabres power play in place of the injured Jeff Skinner. This is take two after yesterday’s postponement, so let’s give this one hell. Go ahead and press Jack Quinn to go Higher Than 0.5 Points on home ice against a Bedard-less Blackhawks team.
Joel Eriksson Ek Higher Than 0.5 Points
The Minnesota Wild have fallen on hard times lately, having lost six out of eight games here in January. Thursday night, they travel to Tampa, but they’ll see the return of star Kirill Kaprizov back into their lineup. For this reason, I think Joel Eriksson Ek’s point has some added value.
When you play with better talent, your own individual play rises too. Not to mention, Eriksson Ek has five points in his last six games without Kaprizov. Let’s go ahead and press Joel Eriksson Ek to go Higher Than 0.5 Points in Tampa on Thursday.
Roman Josi Higher Than 0.5 Points
The Nashville Predators are clinging to that final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. Veteran defenseman Roman Josi is doing a lot of the heavy lifting with a four-game point streak. Across those four games, he has tallied a total of six assists. He is also averaging four shots on goal in that same stretch.
Thursday night, he and the Preds travel west to LA, and his services will most definitely be required. We’re mashing Roman Josi Higher Than 0.5 Points and cashing this banger!
Best Ways to Build Your Thursday Card
-Play all three players together using the “Standard” option on Underdog for a 6x winner
-Play all three players together using the “Insured” option on Underdog for a chance at a 3x winner for all three or a 1x winner for getting two out of three.
