Kyle Larson picked up the win at Darlington Raceway last week for his first Southern 500 victory. That win locks Larson into the next round of the playoffs, which starts in two weeks at Texas Motor Speedway. Larson can still accrue playoff points to carry with him to the next round via stage or race wins over the next two races.

Trouble for playoff contenders was the name of the game at Darlington, but heading into Kansas, only Michael McDowell (-19 points) is more than four points below Christopher Bell on the cutoff line.

The spring race at Kansas was an exciting one, with Denny Hamlin catching and passing Kyle Larson on the last lap to score the win. Toyota has won all three races at Kansas in the NextGen car and four of the last five races there overall. This race is an important one for drivers looking to advance to the next round of the playoffs.

Win here, and you won’t have the pressure next weekend at Bristol under the lights. Mistakes from playoff drivers could make that Bristol race a must-win to advance. Xfinity Series regular Sheldon Creed will make his first career Cup Series start in the #78 at Kansas Speedway.

NASCAR Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway Best Bets

Bubba Wallace Top 5 Finish (+200 Bet365)

In the NextGen era in the NASCAR Cup Series, no track has been better than Kansas Speedway for Bubba Wallace. Last fall, Wallace picked up his second career Cup Series victory in this Hollywood Casino 400 race after leading 58 laps.

In last spring’s race, Wallace consistently had the fastest car in the field, but multiple mistakes cost them track position, and he still recovered for a 10th place finish. Earlier this spring, Wallace had a fast car and finished fourth. Look for Bubba to have another rocket on Sunday and finish in the top 10.

Chase Elliott Top 10 Finish (+140 Bet365)

This one is all about the price. Chase Elliott didn’t make the drivers playoffs, and everyone is down on him. It’s not been the season the #9 team hoped for by any means, but they are still alive in the owners’ playoffs, and Elliott is still a talented driver in a fast car. Elliott finished eighth last week at Darlington and has finished in the top 10 in three of the last four races.

At the spring race here at Kansas Speedway, Elliott scored a seventh-place finish, and his teammate Kyle Larson was the leader on the last lap of the race. Elliott has nine top-10 finishes in 17 Kansas Speedway starts, with a win to his name as well.

Tyler Reddick Over Christopher Bell (-115 DraftKings Sportsbook)

This matchup is a tale of two drivers who often find themselves on the wrong side of mistakes. Loose wheels, bad pit stops. That was on display for Christopher Bell last week after starting on the pole and leading the race early. A slow stop cost him that lead. Then, one problem after another turned into a rough day for the playoff driver.

For Tyler Reddick, it was going to come down to him and Chris Buescher at Michigan until a loose wheel after a green flag pit stop cost Reddick his day. However, in five of the last eight races, Reddick has been the driver to come out on top. Reddick’s number 45 23XI Racing team won both races at Kansas in 2022, and Reddick finished ninth here in the spring. Christopher Bell would finish 36th in the spring race.

Tyler Reddick to Win (+900 DraftKings Sportsbook)

As mentioned above, Reddick’s team has been lights out at Kansas Speedway. Kurt Busch and Bubba Wallace both wheeled the #45 car to victory lane in Kansas in 2022. Reddick finished ninth in the spring race, while car owner and technical alliance teammate Denny Hamlin captured the trophy.

Reddick was one of the fastest cars at Michigan, one of the most similar tracks to Kansas Speedway. On the NASCAR GAMBLING PODCAST, we refer to Kansas as a “Mini Michigan.” Reddick is also a driver who has done well qualifying at Kansas Speedway, with all three NextGen era starts inside the top five.

Reddick is also a great bet to win the pole (+800 Caesars Sportsbook). He had one of the fastest cars last week at Darlington, and based on how his team and manufacturer have run here in the past three races, Reddick might be the driver to beat.

Bubba Wallace to Win (+1200 DraftKings Sportsbook)

It’s all chips in on Toyota this week and, more specifically, the 23XI Racing team. Bubba Wallace has had the best car at Kansas Speedway in two of the last three races, including his win here last fall in this Hollywood Casino 400. Wallace is fresh off of a strong seventh-place finish last week at Darlington and had a strong run going at Michigan, where he led 21 laps.

In the spring race here, Wallace showed tremendous speed and secured the fourth-place finish. He’s heading back to the track that’s been the kindest to him, ready to win and advance himself to the round of 12 in the NASCAR playoffs.
