Calgary Flames vs Seattle Kraken
Start Time: 10:00 PM EST
Pacific Division rivals, the Calgary Flames and the Seattle Kraken, must be sick of each other by now, as they’ve already faced one another three times in this young season (the Kraken lead the series 2-1). And, by a weird scheduling quirk, they’ll finish up their four-game season series tomorrow night in Seattle. Then they’ll really miss each other, I bet.
My normal handicapping for this game would be to fade the Flames because they suck; end of discussion. But Calgary has played pretty well lately, winning six of their past eight games. However, they still can’t score (26th in the league) or stop the puck (26th in goals allowed), so I guess they do suck after all.
The Kraken haven’t been much better this season, allowing too many goals (23rd in the league), but the primary difference between them and the Flames is that they actually can score, ranking in the league’s top 10 in offense. Add in this game being on Seattle’s home ice, where they are 4-2-0 (the Flames are a miserable 2-5-0 away from Calgary), and I think the Kraken have the edge.
All of this makes Seattle on the moneyline my best bet for Wednesday.
