College Football Pick Of The Day (October 31st): NCAA Week 9 Spread Pick

Today’s Week 9 college football pick of the day looks at the late-night game between Boise State and Texas State. Number 20 Boise State has rolled off six straight wins since their early loss against Oregon. The Broncos average over 34 points behind a potent rushing attack, led by Dylan Riley and Sire Gaines. They control the clock, convert third downs at a good rate, and play solid defense.

Texas State brings an explosive offense that ranks among the nation’s best in total yards and points. Dual-threat quarterback Brad Jackson and the run game can stress defenses. However, the Bobcats’ defense has been a major liability, allowing 30 points per game. They’re 0-2 on the road this season.

Boise’s ability to run the ball effectively and generate pressure should limit Texas State’s rhythm while the Broncos build a lead. They should be able to pull away in the second half against a leaky defensive unit. Boise has the tools to cover in a controlled home environment, and I think they do.

The Pick: Boise State (-10.5)
